How to apply


The AMSE Summer School courses are taught at high academic standards:

  • Strong background in Economics or related field is required
  • Holding a postgraduate degree (Master or PhD) and/or having relevant professional experience are key factors in making an application successfull
  • Candidates who have just obtained a relevant undergraduate degree are eligible to apply
  • Courses are taught entirely in English. A good enough command of the language is therefore required


Application calendar

  • Deadline to submit application package (see content below): June 3rd
  • Application acceptance on a rolling basis
  • Deadline payment, early bird: by April 15th
  • Deadline payment, regular: from April 15th to June 7th

Once your place in the course has been confirmed, you will have to submit a draft (or extended abstract) of your paper or send your three most preferred papers from the reading list to by 15th June 2019 the latest.


Application package

  • A detailed and update cv
  • Proof of student status for fee discounts (optional)
  • Title and abstract of a paper for presentation (optional)

All documents must be sent as PDF files to The subject of the mail must be “YOUR_NAME – AMSE summer school Application”. The items must be included in a single PDF file, following the order given above. The name of the file must be “YOUR_NAME – AMSE summer school Application.pdf”.


Acceptance and confirmation

Applications will be evaluated by the summer school program coordinators. Admissions decision are sent to applicants on a rolling basis. If your application is accepted, you can confirm your place by paying the course fees via the Summer School website.

Your place can only be guaranteed once we have received the full payment of the course fees. Upon receipt of your payment, you will receive confirmation of your place on the course via email. This confirmation email is the proof that you have a place in the course. Please be aware that course places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis until the maximum class capacity is reached.

We strongly encourage you to confirm your place as soon as possible. Applicants will be notified when a course is closing due to maximum attendance and will be given instructions on how to proceed in order to secure their place.

Applicants who lobby for acceptance are subject to disqualification.
